Welcome to Class!

Welcome!

I'm so glad you are here. I look forward to spending some relaxing, creative time with you throughout this course.

Are you ready to relax your brain?

Really, all you need is a simple form or creativity. When we delve into a creative exercise, our brain actually starts sparking and changing. We start to leave the analytical side of our brain and move into the creative/emotional side of our brain. When this happens, we begin to relax in our mind, body, and spirit. This is good medicine!

When it comes to Neurographic Art, this process of "sparking your brain" into its creative, happy place is the highlighted intention of the practice. Intentionally sparking those neurons in your brain and then letting yourself get absorbed by the flow of creativity. It's a therapeutic art form that uses freeform lines to connect the conscious and subconscious mind. The term "neurographic" comes from the words "neuro" and "graphic", which refer to brain cells and visual representations, respectively. Pretty cool, right?

Here are some characteristics of neurographic art:

  • Therapeutic: Neurographic art is a widely used psychological technique in art therapy. It can help people experiencing chronic pain, anxiety, and other issues.
  • No drawing skill required: Anyone who can hold a drawing tool can participate.
  • Meditative: The process of creating neurographic art can be meditative and relaxing.
  • Improves brain health: Research shows that making art can decrease stress and increase focus.
  • Creates new neural connections: The process of creating neurographic art encourages the brain to make new neural connections.
  • Transformative: Neurographic art can transform difficult emotions and stress into something healing.

Fun Fact: Russian psychologist Pavel Piskarev coined the term "Neurographica" in 2014.

We will be working together through 8 lessons, and you get to choose the speed we go. You can play the videos over and over. You can skip over parts if you wish. Pause and rewind as often as needed. This course is yours to keep in your library forever!
